Originating in Japan, Reiki is an ancient technique used to introduce healing to the body. It calls attention to anything that may be out of balance on the physical, emotional, mental, & spiritual levels, and brings it into balance.
Reiki directly translates to Universal Life Force Energy, and it is channeled through an attuned Reiki Practitioner and out through their hands.
Reiki is neutral; neither positive or negative, but it is the vibration of life. Reiki can do no harm; it just is.
Raven is attuned to & trained in the Usui Shiki Ryoho System of Natural Healing. She is a certified Reiki Master for humans & animals.
When a Reiki Practitioner refers to their Reiki Lineage, they are referring to the transmission path of Reiki energy from the founder, Dr. Mikao Usui, to his students who became teachers, to their students who became teachers, to their students, and so on.
Dr. Mikao Usui, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, Ms. Hawayo Takata, & Phyllis Lei Furumoto are recognized as the spirtitual lineage of the Usui Shiki Ryoho system.

Dr. Mikao Usui was a Reiki Master and the "Father of Reiki."
It is believed that Dr. Usui traveled to many Western countries throughout his life in an effort to continue studying history, psychology, medicine, Buddhism, Christianity, and Taoism.
In the early 1920s, he participated in a 21-day practice on Mount Kurama consisting of prayer and fasting, where it is believed he learned & developed the Reiki healing practices used today.
Dr. Usui taught Reiki to over 2,000 students during his lifetime.
Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, Reiki Master & student of Dr. Usui, was a naval physician and he incorporated Reiki in his patient's treatments, so much so that he founded the first known Reiki Hospital. Dr. Hayashi was a vital part in spreading the knowledge & benefits of Reiki outside of Japan.
Ms. Hawayo Takata, Reiki Master & student of Dr. Hayashi, brought Reiki to the Western World. Born in Hawaii, she founded the first Reiki Clinic in the United States in 1970 and taught Reiki for over 40 years.
Phyllis Lei Furomoto, Reiki Master & granddaughter of Ms. Hawayo Takata, traveled world wide and continued to spread the Reiki practice far and wide until her passing in 2019.
