You can choose a remote session or an in-home session in the Capital Region. A remote session can be conducted virtually (video conferencing) or offline (no video or phone call).
You may be thinking, “Offline? How do you connect to my pet without seeing or hearing them?” Because Reiki is a powerful life force energy that knows no limitations, the practitioner does not need to be physically present to administer Reiki. The Reiki knows exactly where it is needed most and can reach anyone, anywhere. To learn more about Reiki & its history, visit the What Is Reiki? page here.
The first 10-15 minutes of a session is an opportunity to discuss any current health or behavioral concerns, address any questions that arise, and (for in-home sessions) gives your pet time to adjust to my presence in the home.
For the duration of the session, I recommend keeping your pet in a quiet space where they feel safe & comfortable. This can be in their crate, on the bed, couch, or floor; anywhere they feel most relaxed and can avoid distractions or surprises. The animal is free to move around or leave the space as they need to; this will not impact the effectiveness of the Reiki.
You are welcome to, but you do not need to be present with the animal throughout the session. If you choose to stay with the animal, I ask that you please keep speaking and/or noise to a minimum as to not disrupt your pet’s quiet relaxation.
Note: It is possible that your pet will get up and leave the room during session. This is okay and completely normal! They may return after a few minutes or they may not. It is best practice to let them return at their own pace, or stay away and end the session.
Upon completion of an Offline Remote session, you'll receive an email from me within 30-60 minutes detailing the healing session and any insights, messages, visions, or suggestions that came through. Upon completion of an In-Home or Virtual session, I will share any findings verbally.
I will enter your home calmly and meet you & your companion animal. It is strongly encouraged that we allow your pet to react & greet me as they wish to. Animals jumping, barking, licking, meowing, etc. do not deter me and allowing this typical animal behavior encourages them to feel more confident with a stranger in the home.
Once we’ve covered any questions & concerns and your pet adjusts to my presence as much as possible, I will go into whatever spot in the room your pet feels most comfortable in or has chosen to relax in. It is best practice to leave the room’s door open and a clear path in case the animal opts to leave the space.
I will sit on the floor and open up sacred space for healing & serenity, setting any intentions we had discussed.
Like humans, every animal is different! Many animals benefit from just one or two sessions every month to every few months. No one knows your pet like you, so you are the best judge of how often to schedule sessions. That being said, a follow-up session may be beneficial if you notice a change in their behavior.
Every Reiki session is effective, however the results can be on a deeper level and may not be immediately noticeable.
Animal Reiki sessions involve an ancient method of energy healing for the purpose of pain management, stress reduction, and relaxation. Animal Reiki sessions are not a replacement or substitute for professional veterinary care. Animal Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, prescribe medications or therapies, nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed veterinarian.
